Ingredients ( 6-8 )

  • 1 1/4 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp ice cold water
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins (optional)
  • 1/8 cup powdered sugar

Directions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl beat together shortening, white sugar, cinnamon, flour, and ice water. Beat until crumbly.
  2. Spoon out batter in teaspoon amounts and roll into ball. Place on floured surface. With a rolling pin, roll into 6 inch diameter circles (the dough will be very thin.) Drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with golden raisins. Fold in half, then in half again, forming a triangle.
  3. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown
  4. Let cool for 5 minutes then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
