Doughnut

Ingredients ( 12 doughnuts )

  • 200g flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 30g butter (at room temperature)
  • 20g sugar
  • salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh milk
  • * Cinnamon flavour *
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • * Icing topping *
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon water
  • Walnuts and chocolate rice

Directions

  1. Beat the butter and sugar until white. Then add in the salt
  2. In another bowl combine the egg and fresh milk and mix well until blended
  3. Add 1/3 of the egg and milk mixture into the mixture of butter and sugar and mix well. Then add in another 1/3 and mix well. Finally add in the remaining mixture and mix well until blended
  4. Add the sifted baking powder and flour into the bowl and mix well until blended
  5. Gently roll dough 1cm thick with floured rolling pin. Cut with floured doughnut cutter.
  6. Fry until golden brown
  7. Divide the doughnut into two portions, one for cinnamon flavour and other one for icing topping
  8. For cinnamon flavour, combine the cinnamon powder with the sugar and sprinkle it on the doughnut
  9. For icing topping, mix the sugar with the water and stir. Then, dip half surface of the doughnut into the mixture. Finally spirnkle the chocolate rice or walnut on the surface.
